Just two days after dropping “Everybody Dies”, and on his birthday no less, Ray Vaughn releases a freestyle over Kendrick Lamar’s recent viral track “The Day The Party Died”
Ray goes in over a nod-inducing sample so smooth it would’ve made 2005 Kanye West scrunch his face up. Staying true to the original subject matter, he methodically lists out all the problems with today’s music industry, from the clout-chasing culture, to rappers lying about who they are, to the vultures with large platforms making things worse. Releasing a lyrical performance video in front of a warehouse garage, he forces you to just close your eyes and listen to what he’s saying. Ray knows he’s the next rap superstar, and though he’s still considered a rookie, he’s got a bone to pick with the industry.
